FreshLit is a reading and release calendar. You can use all of it without an account, and we collect as little as we can.

Who we are

What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) handles every request to the site. Like any web server, it records technical details of each request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems, and are kept by our hosting provider under its own retention rules.
- Page statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not set cookies and does not build a profile of you. It gives us totals: which pages were viewed, which sites sent visitors, and broad country and device type.
What we do not collect
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or comments, so we do not hold names, email addresses or passwords.
- There are no forms on the site. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies and we do not sell or share personal data.
Things saved in your browser
If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name fl-theme, so the next page opens the same way. It is not a cookie and we do not receive it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
The site's fonts are served from our own domain, not from a font service.
Other sites
Title pages link to other sites so you can find the book or the film: Open Library, WorldCat, YouTube (for trailers), TMDB, Wikidata and IMDb. When you follow one of those links, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Film and series posters are loaded straight from TMDB's image server. When a page with a poster loads, your browser requests the image from TMDB, which therefore receives your IP address and browser details for that request.
There are no shop or affiliate links on the site at the moment. If we add them, we will say so here and next to the links.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Because we hold no accounts, the only personal data involved is in server logs and any email you send us. Write to hello@freshlitmedia.com and we will help.
Children
FreshLit is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
